Commericals you hate

Okay, it's time to get something out. I can't stand a lot TV commericals. This thread is to tell us which ones you hate and give a discription of them.

There's this one that was just on TV now where this daughter is talking on the phone to her friend and the mom picks it up and starts dialing and the daughters yells she's on the phone and the mom says hello and the daughter tells her again she's on the phone and the mom says who's this and the daughter again says she's on the phone and the mom is like Oh you're on the phone! It finally clicks!! Duh!

Another one I hate is that Alltel commercial with that wizard. I hate cell phones to begin with but to have the dumbest ads is worse. But this Chad is talking to these people about some feature and this other one is like Chad's stealing another one and then this picture of a wizard jumps off this truck and he's not even for these guys.

The last one that I really hate is those Go Meat commercials from Hillshire Farms. Especially of this one that this guy jams a whole 1lb pack of meat in his mouth at once without even chewing any of it. They always had it when I was sitting down to dinner or something. This one time they showed it 5 times in an hour! But I hate when they have to say Go Meat! at the end because I don't even know what that means.

Oh, I seen that one, it is stupid. However with me I could spend all day telling you guys all the commercials I hate.

In New Jersey, if you have Cablevision/Optimum Cable (North Jersey's cable monopoly) as your cable company, there's this annoying commercial that pops up every five seconds. It's for Cablevision's Optimum Triple Play (most cable companies do it, with the TV, internet, and phone). I'm not sure if Cablevision/Optimum's New York or Connecticut customers get it, but it pops up a lot in the Elizabeth area in North NJ.

It's funny and annoying at the same time.

I mostly watch PBS, but they have some crummy ads, too, especially for their kids' shows. Like when they butchered poetry for that lousy "Bearenstein Bears" cartoon:

"Mama Bear likes hugs,
Brother Bear likes bugs (with no visual indication that he does at all. Or anything in the shows that indicates this either),
Sister Bear is funny (no she isn't),
Papa Bear loves his family... and honey. (Complete rhyme scheme breakdown here)

Ugh, that made me cringe every time I heard it.

Anything is better than "Mi gente! Optimum Triple Play is in the house!"

Really. If anyone here has Cablevision/Optimum, you'll know how annoying it is.

Viva Viagra and the Charmin commercial with 2 bears running to the portable toilets while the song, 2001: A Space Odyssey was playing. They have disrespected 2 of Elvis Presley's songs with these commercials.

I don't think I've seen that one, we have Charter mainly around here. And I don't like their commercials either.

It's all Cablevision in Elizabeth (and most of North NJ).

They used to be fine, and then they started calling themselves Optimum and made lame commercials that pop up every two minutes.

In NYC, my grandparents have Time Warner Cable and they have a funny "Sir Charge" series of commercials commercial that makes fun of Verizon.

EVERY ad for ANY erectile dysfunction drug. They're all so creepy and pervy and make me feel dirty on the inside.

These ads for deaf telephone service that run on the radio in Indianapolis. They take old TV shows like Bewitched and Addams Family and make the characters have conversations about hearing loss. They're horribly annoying.

The Steakums ad that runs every commercial break on CNN. I'm always stuck up in the lounge of my college with the TV blaring that in my ear. I AM SICK of that jingle.



Oh, and EVERY spot WB made for Pokemon during Advanced. Especially the one where they mentioned Elite 4 and showed a shot of Maxie. They were clearly put together by people who know NOTHING about Pokemon. Also the TV ad for the Team Rocket Returns TCG set, where they had a CG animation that looked based off the Ryo Ueda Team Rocket Headquarters art (and I hate EVERYTHING Ryo Ueda) with a bunch of grunts. Creeped me out for days. And I'm a Team Rocket fan.

Weight loss pill adds. Up to 300% weight loss? Lose more than 99% of your weight and you're, um, dead.

I think they mean "three times the weight loss" there.

I coulda sworn it showed the clip from the Advanced Battle opening with the silhouettes of the Frontier Brains...perhaps they made two?

Anyway, I hated that too. It made me worry that 4Kids was gonna call the Battle Frontier the "Elite Four" for some stupid reason; to be honest, I wouldn't put it past them.

Perhaps they were talking about the Ash vs. Agatha battle?

Actually, maybe. It was either Maxie, though, or some trainer who WASN'T any E4 members. But WB DEFINITELY made an ad where Maxie was misidentified.

Another one I hate is that Feed The Pig. It's where this lady is laughing like nuts and this person in a pig face is snorting along with her. It has something to do with investing in something for retirement so you can retire happy. Stupid! And of course they have it on about 5 times in an afternoon.

Any PSA. They ALL suck.

Especially the Energy Hog ones and the new McGruff ones with awkward cel-shaded McGruff instead of hand drawn McGruff I grew up with.

The city of NY airs these lame PSAs in my area (even though I live in NJ, the commercials air on the local stations all the time.

They say "truth" at the end and some person explains how "smoking killed my dad".

They pop up more than "Optimum Triple Play is in the house".

Oh, the Truth ads. Those are tolerable, because they're not as cheesy/weird as some of the others I've seen. They're actually... kinda awesome.

Indiana shows some REALLY disturbing PSAs. There was one about a year or so ago with this guy videotaping his kid in their pool, and you saw through the camera, Blair Witch style, and then you hear this "splash" offcamera and the camera gets dropped and the parents start freaking out because their kid's just drowned. Yeah.

Then there's the one the blood center had for about a week where a kid's watching his dad go off to work and there's this REALLY corny, upbeat pop song playing in the background. And they show the dad's car drive off. And run into a tree. And then the ambulance rushing to the scene. And the dad being taken away in a stretcher. All while this kid's watching through the window. The first time I saw it, I was like "what?"

Well, as I mentioned that I don't like cellphones nor their commericals. I was watching The Biggest Loser last night and I timed it and they had 8 cellphone commercials in 30 minutes! I especially hate that one with they call the Nextel chirp. I think that is the crappiest noise ever invented! But then they have buses and trucks grow legs and faces and it looks like they're walking while these cellphones fly in the air making that damn chirp noise every 5 seconds, dumb! And of course they had that wizard one on 4 times because they know just how much I love it.

Sir Charge is funny because it tells what Verizon really is. You guessed it, TOTAL CRAP. That's why I have the Optimum Triple Play (even though Cablevision is no better than Verizon).

I think the reason I hate them is because they act so stupid but also, what the heck does Go Meat mean?

When they say GO MEAT! in the Hillshire Farm commercials they're cheering meat.
If you live in New York, every single commercial you see is highly pointless and annoying. What makes them even more annoying is that they sometimes play the same exact commercial after it just finished.

Well, at least they got rid of that one for now. However, now they have were they are advertising Poise pads and they have these two women on there and the one has this pink fluffy scarf on. Then they both start laughing so hard and I fail to see what it is that's so funny. They get muted when they come on.

Then, Manwich. OMFG!! I HATE THAT ONE! Where they are singing in the background and this family is sitting at the dinner table eating it and this one little girl especially gets to me like when she keeps moving her head from one side to the other when she's eating. Then at the end she takes her hands and wipes her mouth off so extravagently that it's so fake!! One time they had it on 8 times in 2 hours. And it got muted each time too.

i hate digimon ads, especially when they air them during Pokemon.

I have to agree with you. The 311 quit smoking commercials, Optimum Cable, they all suck.
